These blog sites succeeded in telling their story:

These blog sites failed in telling their story:

  • hhttp://www.parentingteensblog.com/school-shooting-in-chicago/ -This blog site failed in telling their story about the school shooting that occurred at Chicago Vocational Career Academy. Gayle who is the one who created this blog site had not updated her blog site at all. Though it may have a place to comment. The Blog site color scheme is plain and doesn't appeal to the eye. There is barely any pictures and no videos. It may be short but it doesn't make the reader want to come back and blog with the creator of the blog site to get a conversation going.
  • http://blog.thenewsroom.com/thenewsroom/2007/10/cleveland-schoo.html -This blog site failed in telling their story about the school shooting that occurred in Cleveland, Ohio. The editor who was in charge of this blog did post videos to give bloggers visual aid about a possible school shooting that would have been similar to the Cleveland and columbine shooting. However he didn't really update his blog site. And the main blog is too short to explain the topic.

Breaking News

Every School in the United States has a "School Safety Plan" This plan is used when there is an emergency. Schools must do Safety Drills to remind the students and faculty what they should do in case there is ever an emergency. A lot of work and organization go into making sure these drills are working properly. The Schools number one priority is to get people to safety. And in this case it would be in a school shooting. Since most people tend to panic during any emergency, a school shooting is one of those times where you must know what to do at that very moment because unlike any weather emergency it usually has a time period but with a school shooting you just never know. If you don't know what to do in case there was a school shooting, please contact your administration and ask them what your School Safety Plan is.

This video is about the nationwide organization Rachel's Challenge and Rachel Joy Scott, who was the first student to be killed in the 1999 Columbine High School shooting.

Speak Up

In 75 percent of school shootings, other people knew about the planned attack before it took place; and 81% of school shooters told someone else about their plan in advance. However, many of these people chose not to warn a school authority about the possible attack because they were afriad of being labled as a tattletale, or they thought the person who issued the threat was not being serious. Speak Up is a campaign that encourages students to report weapon related threats to a school authority, in hopes of reducing the amount of school shootings that occur in out nation.
